Open Classroom Week, Fall 2024
Whether full-time or adjunct, faculty at Nazareth are doing incredible things in their learning spaces every day to engage students in creative ways.听Open听Classroom听Week听is an opportunity for us to learn more about what our colleagues are up to and what our students are experiencing across campus in their academic lives at Naz.
OCW is听open听to听everyone听in the Nazareth community who can benefit from learning about what happens in our classrooms 鈥� faculty, staff, and administration. And new this year: we are welcoming guests who are on campus for Naz Weekend, too! When you open your classroom this Fall, you will have the opportunity to invite friends, families, alumni 鈥� anyone in our Nazareth community!
How does it work?
- Complete听听to听volunteer听to听open听your听class听(or classes) up to faculty and staff guests during the week of September 16. The volunteer period will end on Wednesday, September 4 at 5:00 pm.
- This year, we will be running Open Classroom Week during the week of Naz Weekend (September 16-21, yes, even Saturday!), and instructors will get to choose exactly who they will welcome into their classrooms among Naz alumni, Naz parents and families, and anyone celebrating the centennial with us this year!听
- Open听Classrooms听will be advertised to faculty and staff at Naz on a by Friday, 9/6. At that point, the Google Sheet will be available for viewing听Open听Classrooms听and for signing up to attend specific classes.听
- The number of guests welcomed in classrooms will determine the number of sign-up slots that will be advertised for each听class.
- Guests will sign up for slots to visit听classes听on . The sign-up period will end on Friday, 9/13 at 5:00 pm.听Non-Naz community members will be directed through Alumni Affairs to sign up for their class sessions.
- The Google Sheet will remain viewable after the sign-up period has ended so that instructors know who plans to attend their听class. Instructors may choose to send visitors听class听materials or any other pertinent information prior to their visit.
- Week of 9/16-9/21: Teach your classes and attend others鈥� classes!
- Share your听Open听Classroom听Week experiences on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #opennaz.
- Stay tuned for details of an end-of-week celebration!
