Toby Young's time at聽Nazareth was full of performance opportunities. His vocal performance credits include J.S. Bach鈥檚 Cantata BWV 106, Leonard Bernstein鈥檚 Chichester Psalms, Morten聽Lauridsen鈥檚 Lux Aeterna, G.F. Handel鈥檚 Messiah, Gian Carlo Menotti鈥檚 The Old Maid聽and the Thief and Menotti鈥檚 The Medium. He was one of the proud members of the聽Nazareth Chamber Singers to win the Grand Prix at the 2019 Stanislaw Moniuszko聽International Chamber Choir Competition in Rzez贸w Poland in June 2019. Toby has聽also sung backup for Josh Groban on the Bridges and Stages tours.聽
In his professional life, Mr. Young works as an elementary general music teacher in the聽Greece Central School District. He teaches grades PreK-2 and has previously taught聽grades 3-5 general music and choir. He is also a board member for the Greater聽Rochester American Orff Schulwerk Association (GRAOSA) Chapter, serving as their聽Publicity and Newsletter board member. His love for the Schulwerk has pushed him to聽complete the Orff Schulwerk Teacher Education Course over several summers at聽夜色视频. He completed Level I in 2021, Level II in 2023, and Level III in 2024.聽He had the privilege to work with BethAnn Hepburn, Karen Medley, Connie Van Engen,聽Chris Judah-Lauder and Ben Torres.
His future plans include continually working with GRAOSA and serving on the board,聽attending the AOSA national conferences as much as possible, and possibly
apprenticeship to be an instructor for the Orff Schulwerk Teacher Education Course.
Traveling to National Parks with his wife and daughter is a personal goal he wants to聽achieve alongside all these other goals.
